# Supernote, reMarkable and Kindle Scribe: getting your notes into Penlo

Penlo reads handwritten notebooks as PDF files from your Dropbox or OneDrive. Onyx BOOX tablets can put them there automatically (see [our BOOX guide](https://www.penlo.app/blog/sync-onyx-boox-notes-to-dropbox/)). Supernote, reMarkable and Kindle Scribe can too, but each needs you to export the notebook as a PDF first. Here's how, device by device, as of October 2026.

**The short version:** on these three tablets, exporting to the cloud is a manual step, not automatic. Export the notebook as a PDF to Dropbox or OneDrive whenever you want it in Penlo, and Penlo takes it from there.

## Supernote

Supernote syncs your notebooks to Dropbox or OneDrive in its own `.note` format, which other apps (including Penlo) can't open. You need PDFs, and these come from Supernote's export.

1. **Link your cloud storage.** Swipe down, open **Settings › Sync**, and authorise Dropbox or OneDrive. You'll scan a QR code or enter a code on your phone.
2. **Include the EXPORT folder.** In *Select folders to sync*, tick the **EXPORT** folder, then save.
3. **Export a notebook as PDF.** In a note, tap the export icon, choose the pages and **PDF**, and export. The PDF goes into the EXPORT folder on the device.
4. **Sync.** Swipe down and tap the Sync icon. The PDF uploads to your cloud storage.

In Penlo, choose the cloud folder that the EXPORT folder syncs to. Every PDF you export and sync from then on shows up in Penlo.

Supernote's sync to Dropbox and OneDrive runs when you tap Sync, so make it a habit after exporting.

## reMarkable

reMarkable can export notebooks as PDFs straight to Dropbox or OneDrive through its integrations. No Connect subscription is needed for this.

1. **Add the integration.** On [my.remarkable.com](https://my.remarkable.com/?ref=penlo.app), open **Integrations** and add Dropbox or OneDrive.
2. **Export a notebook.** On the tablet, go to **My files**, press and hold the notebook, choose **Export** and pick your Dropbox or OneDrive. The notebook is saved there as a PDF.

To send a single page instead, open the notebook, use the menu's **Share** option and choose the integration. In Penlo, choose the folder where your reMarkable exports land.

## Kindle Scribe

Kindle Scribe models released in 2025 or later can upload notebooks to OneDrive (Dropbox isn't supported on the Scribe).

1. **Connect OneDrive.** Open **Settings › Connections**, choose **Add connections**, then **Connect** next to OneDrive. Finish signing in on your phone with the code shown.
2. **Export a notebook.** Open it, tap the top toolbar, choose **Share**, then **Share entire notebook**. Pick OneDrive and the handwriting PDF format, then **Upload**.

The PDF lands in a **Kindle Scribe** folder in your OneDrive. In Penlo, choose OneDrive and that folder.

Older Kindle Scribes (2022 and 2024 models) can't upload to cloud storage; they can only email notebooks. To use one with Penlo, save the emailed PDF into your Penlo folder in Dropbox or OneDrive.

## Then connect Penlo

Once your PDFs are reaching Dropbox or OneDrive, connect that account in Penlo and choose the folder. Penlo reads every notebook, transcribes the handwriting, tidies the text and makes it searchable.
